Lyons is a village in Cook County, Illinois, and is part of Lyons Township. The area has historically been known as a residential, blue-collar town, and still is to this day. It is served by Metra's Burlington Northern Santa Fe line with easy access to Chicago. It is notably known as the home of the Chicago Portage National Historic Site, a place where the Native American and French pasts mingle with the present. Local landmark, The Hofmann Tower, is on the National Register of Historic Places.
